چکیده
Jatropha curcas, has been established as a plant whose seeds contain relatively high percentage of oil that is suitable for biodiesel production, among other industrial applications. Seed properties J. curcas may vary depending on soils, age plant, genotype the and agro-climatic conditions specific geographical region. Studies under such have not yet conducted. The present study was aimed at investigating effects physicochemical its seed oil. extracted using n-hexane solvent in Soxhlet extraction apparatus from kernel collected different genotypes plants ages. Oil content ranged 49.78–53.75% (w/w) samples genetic materials age. showed very little but significant differences density gravity samples. highest free fatty acid (FAA) produced by 3-year-old (7.78%), 7- 10-year-old gave lowest FAA (1.26 1.31%, respectively). 7-year-old iodine value (93.60 mg/g oil) (61.10 oil). A study on the physicochemical properties of Jatropha curcas seed oil for industrial applications were carried out. Physicochemical properties of J. curcas seed oil (59.32% lipids) showed high content of LA (36.70%), iodine value (104.90 mg/g) and saponification value (203.36 mg/g). The present study shows that, J. curcas seed oil is rich in oleic and linoleic acids. The J. curcas seed oil with...
متن کاملDetoxification experiments with the seed oil from Jatropha curcas L
Due to its large number of potential utilizations Jatropha curcas L. (physic nut, purging nut), a tropical plant cultivated in many Latin American, Asian and African countries, has become topic of various research projects. Nutritional as well as technical applications, however, are restricted due to the plant’s toxicity. The seed oil contains phorbol esters, a family of compounds known to caus...

15 صفحه اولMapping of QTLs for Seed Phorbol Esters, a Toxic Chemical in Jatropha curcas (L.)
Jatropha (Jatropha curcas L.) is an oil-bearing plant that has potential to be cultivated as a biodiesel crop. The seed cake after oil extraction has 40-50% protein that can be used in animal feeds. A major limitation in utilizing the cake is the presence of phorbol esters (PE), a heat-tolerant toxic chemical. To identify the quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for PE, we constructed a genetic linka...
متن کاملExtraction of oil from Jatropha curcas L. seed kernels by combination of ultrasonication and aqueous enzymatic oil extraction.
Use of ultrasonication as a pretreatment before aqueous oil extraction and aqueous enzymatic oil extraction was found to be useful in the case of extraction of oil from the seeds of Jatropha curcas L. The use of ultrasonication for 10 min at pH 9.0 followed by aqueous oil extraction gave a yield of 67%. However, the maximum yield of 74% was obtained by ultrasonication for 5 min followed by aque...
